INCODING requires authors, reviewers, and editors to disclose relationships or interests that could improperly influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, the evaluation and publication of scholarly work.
Conflicts of interest may be financial, professional, institutional, personal, or academic.
Authors must disclose relevant funding, financial relationships, affiliations, and other interests that may affect the research or its interpretation. If no relevant conflict exists, authors should provide an explicit declaration stating that no conflict of interest is declared.
Reviewers must decline assignments when a conflict could compromise their impartiality and inform the editorial office of any relevant circumstances.
Editors must not handle manuscripts in which they have a competing interest. Such manuscripts should be reassigned to an independent editor.
Disclosures will be considered during editorial assessment and reported in published articles where appropriate.
